黄山毛峰绿茶

Under the twilight of awe and wonder, osmanthus flower blossoms beneath your feet towards sandstone archways inspired by great craftsmen of ancient times. Here you will find Xidi Village (西递), the birthplace of Huangshan Maofeng tea (green and black). The grand tea masters in this village are the living embodiment in tea crafting wizardry. When the moon rises to illuminate their intricate art form, you will finally find yourself at one with wonder.

Huangshan Maofeng Green Tea or Yellow Mountain Fur Peak is considered one of the noble teas of China. Leaves are picked in early spring when the buds are still tender and bursting with intensity right before the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year). A bud with a single unfolding leaf is picked to produce pinnacle grade Huangshan Maofeng. The tea leaves resembled the tongue of sparrow. The tea is handpicked at the first sign of dawn. Once it arrives at the factory, the commanding theatrical performance of time, heat, and tension yield to the focus skills of the tea masters. Seeing the process in action is a true gift of discovery. There is enduring passion in every detail.

Upon brewing, the leaves will look just like the fresh tea leaves dancing on top of a living tea bush. The hue is light yellow. The taste is clean underpinned by floral aromas and a silky sweet finish. You will also notice a mist of filaments hovering on the top of the tea liquor … one of the profound evidences of early spring harvest.  Huangshan Maofeng is a perfect expression of harmony, complexity and refinement.
